Central Valley Tank of California, Inc. can fabricate food grade tanks to Food and Drug Administration / FDA requirements. Our presence in the highly productive agricultural region (the Central Valley of California) has provided us with extensive experience serving the needs of the food industry, from storage for transport to integration in food processing plants. We fabricate all types of food tanks for the food processing industry, dairy industry, juice, beverages, wine & wineries, the bottling industry, food processing plants and food storage. We fabricate silos, hoppers, bins and tanks for dry products like flour, grain, feed and more.

The dairy tanks we fabricate are typically stainless steel and some recent examples include bulk milk cooling tanks for milk storage and milk and dairy food processing plant tanks. Sanitation principles are taken into account in tank fabrication and we can build to NSF standards and comply with the local health department standards of your state and county. We can fabricate bolted and welded food storage tanks. Materials are typically carbon steel or stainless steel and usually 304 grade stainless or 316 grade stainless (a higher tensile strength lower carbon content stainless). Fabrication methods include MIG or TIG welding and stainless steel can be polished to a shiny #4 finish. Our steel food tanks can be coated or painted, interior and exterior, to provide protection and durability. We can provide EPA approved epoxy coatings, and meet any EPA, local or states codes.

Our shop has separate manufacturing facilities for carbon steel and stainless steel tanks to prevent cross contamination during fabrication. Chemical washing and tank coatings are available based on construction material and tank application. Features we can integrate into our food tanks include electric or hydraulic mixers and agitators, dimple jackets, heating coils, heating jackets, steam coils, cooling jackets, cooling coils, insulation, insulated outer walls, powder shakers, powder vibrators, screw conveyors, inlets, outlets, discharge valves, grain conveyors, filling and distribution "U" tubes, drains, ladders, access hatches, man doors, man way access doors, tank shell anchors, seismic restraints, and welded tank nozzles with 150 lb to 3000 lb flanges. We fabricate to meet your specs.

An example of a recent project was a stainless steel food tank we customized for a wine producer with refrigeration by way of a cold wall jacket with circulating refrigerant.
